Having done some scouting, I can confirm that everything is the same in this respect; to compensate for the other hemisphere, motorcars are simply driven on the other side. I remember this effect from RSA and Botswana  ( ;) ).

I'm sure you will manage, though :)

I have also trouble to find Polaris in the night sky. There is a cross for compensation, though ( ;) )

Stefan

Maybe for you Stefan, but not for us. Cheers

Just for once and all .... driving on the right is the wrong way :).

The Greeks and Romans marched on the left. Austria Hungarian empire was on the left of the road. French aristocrats drove their coaches on the left but as the peasants walked on the right, after the revolution, all traffic went to the right.

Many countries in Europe switched to the right side of the road in the 20th century ... only the islands are left.

I was always told that driving on the left was a logical progression from the knights who carried their swords in their right hand on horseback, and therefore needed to pass enemies on the left in order to attack....

Today, Melbourne drivers still use that same method of attack!

Most lethal in the world, IMO. Except perhaps for the 'Taswegians'.

Maybe it has something tyo do with Latitude. The further South ......... etc.

After the BREXIT is finished completely, the next big project for the UK government will be to drive on the right side of the street.

This might take place in 2019 or 2020, but certainly the UK government has stated that they will start with the lorries f1rst :-)

We're already driving on the right side of the street, John.  It's called the left.  ^_^

Well that's the long flight over, we're now in Singapore after 12:45 from London. Board in 45 minutes for the short hop (7:45) to Melbourne. See you all down-under.

Cheers, Tom

Pete, you are going to fit in really well here, downunder, whatever you get up to.

I would say I'm flexible, as long I get a RHD car in LHT and reciprocally.

Apologies for adding more clichés, I found this squatter in the bathroom this morning. Since I've been advised to look out for the small ones, this one is probably harmless (I added an AUD coin for scale), however I still considered the safety catch to be off. Should I find a shark or crocodile in the bathtub, I'll have a word with the manager.

Please also note the special drawing of this glass :)

Just arrived into Melbourne and had my first VB in a couple of years. Not a bad beer, come to think of it there is no bad beer but some are better than others.

What do they take? Furled umbrellas? Shovel handles? Baguettes? Car aerials? (Trying to think of more long, thin things that snakes might take a liking to ... )

Pete.

They sit on your seat and wait for you to sit on them. This gives them an excuse to do nasty things.
