ralphh Posted August 8, 2016 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got back from 5 days staying with some friends who have a farm house in Harrogate and a daughter the same age as mine. Sorry for posting 9 images in 1 thread, I can't seem to condense it any further - I took about 1000 images and ended up with about 50 I really like, 16 of which are going in my summer book. Iduna Posted August 8, 2016 Share #3 Posted August 8, 2016 Ralph, most lovely series, all seem to be as if from a fairy tale book. The b&w underlines this aspect.

Steve Ash Posted August 8, 2016 Share #7 Posted August 8, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Usually I am not a big fan of children photography. This is not because I do not like children but the circumstance that photographers tend to loose the eye for quality due to the close connection to the subject. Your series is different though. In other words: I love it. Steve Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk
Michael Geschlecht Posted August 8, 2016 Share #8 Posted August 8, 2016 Hello Ralphh, Nice photos all. Please remember: She is only going to be this person in front of you today for a short time. Then she will become another person while staying exactly who she is today. So, now is the only time you can take "today's" photos because tomorrow there will be different "today's" photos to take. Best Regards, Michael

ralphh Posted August 8, 2016 Author Share #10 Posted August 8, 2016 Thanks everyone. I really do appreciate your kind comments!! Hello Ralphh, Nice photos all. Please remember: She is only going to be this person in front of you today for a short time. Then she will become another person while staying exactly who she is today. So, now is the only time you can take "today's" photos because tomorrow there will be different "today's" photos to take. Best Regards, Michael I will remember. I take a LOT of photos. I missed most of her first 3 years because I was always at work, but now I'm making up for it. Usually I am not a big fan of children photography. This is not because I do not like children but the circumstance that photographers tend to loose the eye for quality due to the close connection to the subject. Your series is different though. In other words: I love it. Steve Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk Thanks Steve! I know what you mean. I do not like most child photography. I try very hard to make sure every photo is worthwhile and stands up and a proper piece of work, not just a snapshot. I am very brutal with my deleting. I took 126 photos yesterday. I deleted 124 of them (permenently). I still keep more than I will ever use, but I try not to be emotionally attached to bad work. I probably have a few threads on the first page of this subforum if you'd like to see more
leica dream Posted August 8, 2016 Share #11 Posted August 8, 2016 I think this series is super...............but for me No2 (looking through the gate) is the winner I would want on my sideboard. Richard

gberger Posted August 8, 2016 Share #13 Posted August 8, 2016 Ralph, They're about the age of my Great Granddaughters. Cherish those photos, as when you inevitably get older, they'll remind you of your Daughter's innocence and exuberance. Cheers,George
Musotographer Posted August 20, 2016 Share #14 Posted August 20, 2016 I too do not spend a lot of time looking at photos of children - but these are wonderful pictures, and literally put a big smile on my face. Congratulations!
