dancook Posted July 12, 2016 Share #1 Posted July 12, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Was looking for an occasional change of pace from my Leica Q. Hoping to spend less than £1000 for both Camera and Lens, so not sure on my options for a summicron. Can anyone make a recommendation for 35mm lens, and comments on choice of body? thanks - edit - maybe i should consider the m6 again (oh and upping my budget.....oops)
Advertisement Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Hi dancook, Take a look here M2 + 35mm Cron? F8, Mono Street Photography. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Rus Posted July 12, 2016 Share #2 Posted July 12, 2016 A CL or CLE with a cron-c 40/2 should be within the budget~
stephen.w Posted July 12, 2016 Share #3 Posted July 12, 2016 An M6 and a Voightlaender 35mm f2.5 would be a nice combination, and could see you squick in under 1000 GBP: http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/m-bodies/10216-leica-m6-072-classic-chrome-body.html

Rus Posted July 12, 2016 Share #5 Posted July 12, 2016 Way to throw a spanner in the works Minolta CLE looks interesting.. I myself have been tempted by the CLE for quite a while now Just checked the list on ApertureUK, there are some fairly good choices there~
TomB_tx Posted July 12, 2016 Share #6 Posted July 12, 2016 I've used the CL & 40 for decades as my travel camera, and it is very nice for street work. Also the 90 Elmar-C for the CL is excellent, and slips in a pocket for use when needed.
M_eraldcity Posted July 12, 2016 Share #7 Posted July 12, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've used the CL & 40 for decades as my travel camera, and it is very nice for street work. Also the 90 Elmar-C for the CL is excellent, and slips in a pocket for use when needed. Same for me. 2 CLE bodies, 28mm elmarit v3, 40mm summi and a 90mm m-rokkor leitz have been, for quite a while, my analog mainstay for travel. A fixed lens minilux is also stellar for really light travel if you can accept and prepare for its limitations. Best.
