samwells Posted June 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 9, 2007 Dan - Lovely, rather sensuous image; nice tight crop. Is that a Corvette? cheers: Sam
ddp Posted June 9, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted June 9, 2007 Thanks all for the comments. It is indeed a Corvette. Camera was an MP3 (current) and the lens was a Noctilux.
stuny Posted June 11, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 11, 2007 Dan - You've perfectly evoked the 1960s, with drive-in restaurants (with car-hops, some on skates), American Grafitti, and kustom kars (the last as a result of the "decking & Frenching" of the Stingray, and it's beautiful custom paint). It's probably a '64 or '65. In front of it is a GM car from the mid 50s ('54-'56), but it's too out of focus to see if it is Chevy, Buick or Olds. Lovely photo. cboudier Posted June 11, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Simply Superb ! The nice bokeh adds to the atmosphere nicely. More important than what you did use to take this picture, for me, is : Why ? I like to read your answer to this question... Thanks.
topoxforddoc Posted June 11, 2007 Share #8 Posted June 11, 2007 Just great. The lovely out of focus highlights just finish this shot off perfectly. Charlie
pemayeux Posted June 12, 2007 Share #9 Posted June 12, 2007 Very nice shot Dan. Great choice of lens and focus for this shot. The Noctilux handled the oof areas nicely. What film did you use? Paul.
ddp Posted June 12, 2007 Author Share #10 Posted June 12, 2007 More important than what you did use to take this picture, for me, is : Why ?I like to read your answer to this question... Thanks. Christophe - I love shooting at twilight..and shooting cars is something I truly enjoy. The lines of this Corvette are what caught my eye. I shoot for a living, my dayjob is all digital corporate stuff...this represents the fun for me - film and simple enjoyment.

Paul. Thanks Paul. I will double check, but I am almost positive it was good old consumer grade Gold 200. I've been on a Portra kick lately, but this is all I had in color that night. Was sort of an unexpected evening out....
elansprint72 Posted June 12, 2007 Share #12 Posted June 12, 2007 Really pleasing shot Dan! Your capture of the twilight tones is remarkable. There were some great designs from that period in the mid fifties (when it was discovered that they could really bend glass) through to the end of the sixties when it went out of fashion.
