thighslapper Posted June 28, 2016 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today ..... SL + 90-280 These teenage pests manage to get through 1.5kg of birdfood a day, crap everywhere and are constantly fighting and chasing off the more polite songbirds in our garden. I've had to ration them as a result. Difficult to photo as they never stay still but I thought I would have a go this morning .... this is one of a few reasonable shots Welcome, dear visitor! stuny Posted June 28, 2016 Share #2 Posted June 28, 2016 Beautiful shot. Sadly, they were introduced to the US, I think in the late 19th century.

Northwest Wanderer Posted June 29, 2016 Share #5 Posted June 29, 2016 Very good image of a less than welcome bird. The outside of my barn looks as if it's been whitewashed by their droppings.
dkCambridgeshire Posted June 29, 2016 Share #6 Posted June 29, 2016 They're wonderful birds and the adult plumage is beautiful - and they can be taught to speak. Who'll be first to shoot a 4K video of a starling murmation using an SL 601? dunk
war Posted June 30, 2016 Share #7 Posted June 30, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is a very attractive image despite the disdain most have for these birds. As many as we have, they must have enough insects to feed on as they are not attracted to our songbird feeds.

fotografr Posted July 2, 2016 Share #10 Posted July 2, 2016 You do know, of course, that Starlings love to be photographed and by pointing your camera at them they are bound to tell all their friends to stop over for a portrait. Put a print of this photo out in your garden and you'll never be rid of them.
