Thanks guys.

Stuart, this was on Orkney, a remarkable group of islands off the north of Scotland.

Fabulous wildlife and incredible Neolithic archaeology. A brilliant place to spend a week.

Beautiful daring shot. These are interesting birds. I'm headed to the Saltee Islands in August to see the Puffins. You've set the standards high. (Won't be dangling from any cliffs though)

Great capture.

It brings back a distant memory of a holiday long ago when I rode along the north west Scottish coast and dropped in at a place called Durness where a rookery of these lovely birds could be found during nesting season. "Shoulda bin here last week" was the response when I asked where they all were. Nesting season was over. I stilled managed to spot a couple of stragglers from the cliff tops! Lovely birds indeed.

This beautiful bird is an Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica), not a horned one (Fratercula corniculata) who would be an extremely long way from home.

My error, I failed to notice the steel-blue triangle at the base of its beak.

With the exception of the blurred area it's a fine image.
