BigBabyEarl Posted June 19, 2016 Share #1 Â Posted June 19, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey there. I did it. I scored a brand new in box Aspherical from some photog who had it as a back up since new. Its incredible- except the hood. Its huge and lame. Are there any other hood options like the 12466 or perhaps a threaded one? Thank you.

Unfortunately not  The lens is pretty good against flare and strong front light so I tend to use it without any hood  If I know I will be in a place with very strong light, I use the universal polfilter which also offers some protection against bumps and scratches

IWC Doppel Posted June 19, 2016 Share #4  Posted June 19, 2016 I have a 12466 and it doesn't fit my AA, shame  I tend to use my AA with its hood all the time, I'll try leaving it at home and see how I get on. Wonderful lens
lct Posted June 19, 2016 Share #5  Posted June 19, 2016 Curious that the 12466 hood does not fit the 35/1.4 aspherical given that both 12466 &12588 hoods fit the 35/1.4 asph v1 as well as the 28/2 v1 (pic). BTW the 12588 hood (left) is rather less bulky than the 12466 (right).  Welcome, dear visitor! IWC Doppel Posted June 19, 2016 Share #6  Posted June 19, 2016 The top is different on the Aspherical and the 12466 slips on but  the clips sit above the end of the lens as the hood on the 28 summicron the 12466 hood sits over the white dot on the lens and the barrel of the aspherical is too fat to let the hood slide on any further.
