Advertisement Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hi Herr Barnack, Take a look here Original Leica olympiada Berlin 1936 for sale on ebay!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
willeica Posted June 8, 2016 Share #2 Â Posted June 8, 2016 I presume that the guy who placed this is aware that this is a fake. By coincidence, I am going to see the film 'Race' tomorrow, which recounts the exploits of Jesse Owens at the 1936 Olympics. I have heard that the film has an interesting 'take' on Leni Riefenstahl. luigi bertolotti Posted June 8, 2016 Share #3 Â Posted June 8, 2016 Funny item... at 1/100 of the price I'd think seriously to buy...

poseidon Posted June 8, 2016 Share #7  Posted June 8, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, was für ein schlimmer fake................... Guest Posted June 8, 2016 Share #8 Â Posted June 8, 2016 ... Â But for that the small typo "Olympiada" was engraved instead of right "Olympiade" - - insignificant trifals.
pico Posted June 8, 2016 Share #9 Â Posted June 8, 2016 Set me straight - to my knowledge Leitz never put a Nazi anything on any of their cameras. Correct? .
Antonio Madureira Posted June 8, 2016 Share #10  Posted June 8, 2016 Yes Pico, as far as I know, correct. Furthermore all the engravings, including the case one, are pathetic, body is a brass finish  Fed 1g (look for de shutter release), lens is an Industar from a Zorki, and price is a bargain... Regards Antonio
Decimusmaximus7 Posted June 9, 2016 Share #11 Â Posted June 9, 2016 I have seen genuine Leitz binoculars with Kriegsmarine markings, however I don't know if the markings were engraved by Leitz or after delivery.
luigi bertolotti Posted June 9, 2016 Share #12 Â Posted June 9, 2016 Set me straight - to my knowledge Leitz never put a Nazi anything on any of their cameras. Correct? . Indeed, nothing strictly symbolic of NSDAP.... of course, when they produced for the armed forces, many miltary engravings were made... is a specific field of interest for many collectors... mmx_2 Posted June 20, 2016 Share #13 Â Posted June 20, 2016 What about this one just sold at westlicht? I've always been told that leitz never engraved any nazisymbols:http://www.westlicht-auction.com/index.php?id=4&L=

jaapv Posted June 21, 2016 Share #17 Â Posted June 21, 2016 Would Westlicht offer a fake? It is probably some clerk at the Wehrmacht procuring office producing a shoddy stamping in 1938.

willeica Posted June 21, 2016 Share #19 Â Posted June 21, 2016 Westlicht seem to take great care with such items and call on outside expertise if any issues arise. This one may have given rise to doubt in the minds of bidders because of poor workmanship. I thought that the military items went a bit slowly this yeas with less interest than usual. Perhaps, the military market has peaked. Â William
mmx_2 Posted July 1, 2016 Share #20 Â Posted July 1, 2016 I was just so surprised that this item would show up at a respectable auction house like Westlicht. As far as I know (and have been told) Leitz never produced any cameras with eagles and the only "military markings" where "Luftwaffen-Eigentum" and similair markings. I'm also not surprised it went unsold .
