Oh yes, that would work - I'm just used to using the remote trigger which came with the off-camera flash and I already had the TTL cable.

I'm not sure slave unite would work with TTL mode, but then I could be wrong.

in TTL the flash fire twice which would trigger the slave on the wrong time (first one). So it would Only works when used in Manuel mode.

Some slaved units are smart enough to ignore the pre-flash; they recognize the cameras mode. That said I gave up on Leicas TTL mode. Auto thyristor works very well.

There's another one later this year, I hate doing the same thing though - so unless I can think of a way to change it up, I've got some Neo LED Lights, that I've been thinking to use with a wide aperture.. will see.

I missed these when first posted but am really got the thread got resurrected. I've not seen better strobed portraits posted here. They're outstanding, and the explanation of your technique is much appreciated.

 

I have to say if I saw "The Ring" on a dark street it would probably do me in.
