last from that day at Clovelly, Sydney

wow, now that is a crowded beach!

Coogee Beach, Sydney

M7, Portra 400, 1.4/35 Summilux ASPH

I too left a yellow filter on thinking it was B&W film so I fiddled further with the crap colour...

Certainly didn't get the yellow of Jean Marc's photo.

very interesting.  Reminds me of some lomo film

Shell beach, Formentera. M8

WOW - my 8 yr old daughter would be in HEAVEN at that beach!

I miss the Island, I grew up across the Solent. I think the IOW has something '1970s' about it, whatever the medium. :)

Funny I'd tagged your shot (before I read your subsequent reply on the same topic) because the shadows of the lamposts are Maroubra to me. What I was aiming for in the first shot above.

I'm amazed we don't cross paths more often since we clearly are crossing paths!

The subject just works so well with the accidental yellow, awesome mistake! I too have left the yellow filter attached but on M9 with far less interesting results.

Another Maroubra icon!

And a couple of older shots of William Hearst Memorial Beach, San Simeon, California (with 50 Summicron-R and 28 Elmarit-R)

Had to 'break in' to the beach for this sunrise (National Park closed until after dawn)

Well that one just tops them all!

Nice pun, Mark :)

St Maarten

M9, 35mm lux fle

Hi, great shots! I am wondering are the St Maarten shots straight out of the camera or post processed?

Thanks, Ulli.

I did indeed edit these St Maarten photos in lightroom; if i recall correctly I applied somewhat of a crude set of adjustment with the intent of deliberately making the people look a little cartoon-like.

You're welcome.

This was obvious from the first of this set you posted. The slightly surreal processing emphasises these very bizarre scenes.  Can you imagine this being allowed in a first-world country?

It's interesting, the scans from the reversal film (Provia 100) came so vividly yellow, will experiment  with a deep yellow filter and try with a red as well. Had tried on negative 16mm cine film years ago with not much sucess.

Cheers, JM

Great capture Adam.....at 28mm, looks like you could have grabbed the wing.

Yes, indeed, Marc, it is really that low. It is amazing that the fumes are not suffocating...

Here is another to give a sense of how close the beach is to the runway...and how powerful the blast is just from this small plane... :)
