BCMielke Posted May 12, 2016 Share #1 Â Posted May 12, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have owned the above lens for some time. Â I purchased it used with the goggles, but having an M240 and and SL I don't need to use it that way so those have never been mounted on the camera. Â I do use it with the Macro adapter that came out a couple of years back. Â Â I completely understand the distancing scale on the top of the camera. Â It contains distances .8 to infinity. Â However I can find no way to use the lower focusing scale at all which has distances of .5 to .76. Â Was this to be used with the goggles? Â Thanks,
Advertisement Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Hi BCMielke, Take a look here Leica 90mm Macro close-up focusing scale. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted May 12, 2016 Share #2  Posted May 12, 2016 Yes, in macro mode, with goggles.  The new 90 Macro-Elmar, with new adapter, has no such second scale.  Differences noted here.... http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-news/2014/07/leica-macro-elmar-m-90/  Jeff
jdlaing Posted May 12, 2016 Share #3 Â Posted May 12, 2016 The eyes part of the goggles is easily (for the most part) removeable. That way you can easily use it with EVF or liveview. The adapter, when mounted to,the camera mounts the lens "upside down" to use the close focusing scale. If you decide to remove the eyes put the screws back in the holes before you re-attach the cover plate and they won't get lost as they are very small. BCMielke Posted May 12, 2016 Author Share #4 Â Posted May 12, 2016 Thanks! Â I will have to get the goggles out from storage at some point just to look over how it would work. Â
lct Posted May 13, 2016 Share #5  Posted May 13, 2016 There is nothing to remove if you have the "new" adapter. It works perfectly with the "old" 90/4 macro as is.
jdlaing Posted May 13, 2016 Share #6 Â Posted May 13, 2016 Did you see the part where he says he has the adapter with the eyes?
lct Posted May 13, 2016 Share #7 Â Posted May 13, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I read "I do use it with the Macro adapter that came out a couple of years back" so i thought the OP has the "new" adapter as well.
