I have owned the above lens for some time.  I purchased it used with the goggles, but having an M240 and and SL I don't need to use it that way so those have never been mounted on the camera.  I do use it with the Macro adapter that came out a couple of years back.

I completely understand the distancing scale on the top of the camera.  It contains distances .8 to infinity.  However I can find no way to use the lower focusing scale at all which has distances of .5 to .76.  Was this to be used with the goggles?

Thanks,

The eyes part of the goggles is easily (for the most part) removeable. That way you can easily use it with EVF or liveview. The adapter, when mounted to,the camera mounts the lens "upside down" to use the close focusing scale. If you decide to remove the eyes put the screws back in the holes before you re-attach the cover plate and they won't get lost as they are very small.
