Its beautiful. As a suggestion and not being critical, you might try a tighter crop. It makes it more dramatic looking and the colors stay just as gorgeous.

Thank you for the tip.  I will have to give that a try.  For some reason I hesitate to crop tight.  I will have to get over that hesitation.

iQ2 do you mean something like this? Your thoughts? Maybe I should stop down a bit to get more in focus?

Absolutely. For my tastes, that is more dramatic and pleasing. Simply my tastes though. Others will see it differently. Vey beautiful!

There’s an adage I’ve followed for a long time: Get Closer! Cropping does that too. It’s one of the reasons I went for the Q2

Macro is fun....just as long as someone else is holding the pose!

This giant moth (about 6 inches from wing tip to wing tip) was sitting on the path to my office this afternoon.  What I find interesting is the "eyes" on its wings.  I'd bet that it is a defense mechanism to make it look like the face of a much larger creature.  Q2.  Thanks,  Mark B

I like the tighter crop.  Visually more stunning IMO!  You haven’t lost anything in color.

Love the little guy.  I’ve actually had one on my arm and rest on my shoulder.   It actually “tickles”.   Great capture!

My first attempt at Macro on my 2 day old Q2  I used a DHG Achromatic Macro 200 +5 Close Up Filter. Shot at F 2.8, should have tried F 4 for better in focus. I liked the colors though.

Excellent first attempt. How about a tripod and f/11 next time as an idea?

You’re right. I was in a hurry and only took the one shot.  I will get my tripod out and try smaller apertures.  Thanks.

Primrose wildflower, Leica Q2, Macro Mode, 1/125, f/3.5, ISO 100 with tripod.  I should have shot it at f/11, but the wind was blowing and I was struggling with keeping it steady.
