A short story ...

Back in the early sixties my father was a main line engine driver, London - Newcastle. While in London he bought this little brass duck. It was enamelled  black when he brought it home to mum, but she polished it that much over the years  :)

Roll forward the years to the late eighties and I'm out with my wife and find these little fellas is an antique shop

The lady wanted a £1.00 so I got three quid out for her .... she said, "No, a pound for the three"

My mum, dad and my wife have long since passed on ... but the family is complete   :)

Very touching and emotional...we feel your sensibility through your words, you must be a bright person. Thanks for the confidence.

And I love your photos of these little fellows.

I  am working on a book about Joze Plecnik, a brilliant Slovenian architect, urbanist and furniture designer (1876-1958).  I am doing it in black and white,  with the Monochroms I have. In Plecnik's house,  which is now a museum,  I found the need to do closeups and let's face it,  this is not the strong point of the M cameras.  I used my Q in the house,  and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the B/W conversions.

Plecnik's glasses,  Plecnik House, Ljubljana.
