I think some perspective is in order, though. The lens has beautiful rendering, but compared to its Leica brethren, it's not unique or spectacular. Compared to other lenses, especially APS-C lenses it is lovely. Â But yes, it's crazy expensive. Especially since they raised the price $400 after launch. SirPiet Posted June 3, 2016 Share #9 Â Posted June 3, 2016 Hi Tom, i've used the lens quite a lot, 75% of my images since i bought it are shot with the 35mm f/1.4 It's safe to say that this is the most versatile lens for the T system and the best 35mm prime for APS-C sensors. I usually stop it down a bit for maximum performance and a slightly larger focus area, but it is already excellent wide open. While I love the 18-56 zoom, I don't use it at the long end because of its slow aperture and more temperamental autofocus there (indoors). I forgot how much I enjoy the 50mmn FOV, previously sticking instead to the wide end of the zoom or using the 23mm. Â The 35mm Summilux is an awesome lens! It's become my go-to lens, despite its larger size. Focus is fast and it handles really well, especially with the half-case (which gives more to grip, and hence better balance). Moreover, it is incredibly sharp, has beautiful bokeh and classic Leica colors and microcontrast. An A+ lens for sure. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The images you posted look great and I like the normal focal length a lot. Is the hood included? I will see if I can find a more compact hood anyways, the original is too large for my taste. The only thing to watch for is chromatic aberration when used wide open against back lighting. Hood won't help there but post processing does. Â Enjoy the lens. It's a beauty.
