EoinC Posted April 20, 2016 Share #842 Posted April 20, 2016 Mike whats the difference between the CF and the CFE apart from about $1200 bucks?? The difference between the CF and CFE lenses is that the CFE adds an electronic contact set for use with 200 series cameras. This is not relevant for your 500 series camera, so (generally) more $ for 0 gain, Neil. The indirect difference may be a newer lens being in better condition than an older lens, but the opposite may also be true - It's down to the individual lens copy. EoinC Posted April 20, 2016 Share #843 Posted April 20, 2016 Some bedtime reading for you, Neil... http://www.hasselbladhistorical.eu/HW/HWLds.aspx For my part, the 80mm Planar (standard lens) is great, and covers 99.3% of what I want to shoot. For Wide, I would rather use a SWC with the Biogon 38mm than a 500 with a Distagon 40, 50, or 60mm. For longer lenses (Which I'm not currently bothered about), it would be either the Makro-planar 120mm, or the Sonnar 150mm. I suggest (although I know it won't work) that you don't bother buying any additional lenses for the 503 until you've used it.

Eoin My mate in Keat Camera has a few second hand lenses, but I am with you Bro, I have no intention of buying any more camera gear or lenses for the Blad until I have had time to play with it and see if I like it. For sure if I like it I will add a couple of lenses but if I don't then it will be back on eBay :)
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted April 21, 2016 Share #845 Posted April 21, 2016 Question. How can I use my 503CW with my Profoto lights. I am planning a model shoot for when I get home and would like to use both my M6 and 503CW. I have tried my M6 already and that works fine, I cant see where the hotshoe is on the Blad ?? They aren't the most practical of beasts, even measured against other film offerings. You pretty much need 2 smoko breaks during a film change. Flash on the Hasselblad is by PC cable to the lens - The flash synch's to the shutter, which is in the lens, not in the body of the camera.

Eoin I was hoping to be able to use a cable from the lens to the profoto air remote and then fire the B1 head that way.........if not I guess I just need a sync cable, any idea what cable I would need to get

EoinC Posted April 21, 2016 Share #852 Posted April 21, 2016 The Zeiss lenses for the Hasselblad use a PC connector. "PC" standing for "Prontor-Compur", a reference to the leaf shutter.

I've also just bought a mint CZ 180mm CF f4 ..............cheap as chips :)
EoinC Posted April 21, 2016 Share #854 Posted April 21, 2016 Hi, Neil. I don't know if there will be any issues with the length. Remember there is no power coming from the Hasselblad.
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted April 21, 2016 Share #855 Posted April 21, 2016 I read a bunch of threads on this and a few folks said longer rather than shorter, but that wasn't necessarily with a Hasselblad so you could have a point there. I'm still hoping the short cable and hot shoe will do the trick .........just remembered I had better try and get a cold mount shoe off eBay for my Blad

EoinC Posted April 21, 2016 Share #857 Posted April 21, 2016 And a bonus is I think the Hasselblad lenses will, with the appropriate adapter, work on your "S", correct? Gary I believe that's correct, Gary (although I don't have a "S"). I think Neil already has the focal lengths covered on his S006, though, and the Hasselblad Zeiss lenses don't have AF. It may be a good backup, though, for when the Leica S lenses do their "whirrrrr....crunch" trick, which they seem to be prone to, according to what I've read in the LUF "S" forum... cwolffensperger Posted April 22, 2016 Share #858 Posted April 22, 2016 Damn Neil, this thread of yours actually made your GAS contagious! Also just took the plunge, found new toys on the bay, the Texas Leica's (Fuji GW690III & GSW690III). So my first steps in MF, hope it's not all too different to 35mm film. Only problem is that in Iceland it's going to be impossible to do E6, especially in MF. Anyone got suggestions of a good place to send the film, get it developed and scanned? Preferably somewhere in Europe... And any other tips are more than welcome of course! Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met behulp van Tapatalk
Sandokan Posted April 23, 2016 Share #859 Posted April 23, 2016 I got colour results back from my Voigtlander 667 iii and they were fab. It will always be my travel camera instead of any other film camera in the future. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
