Have a browse through here, Neil, to get some idea of the look of Pan 400:

I find Flickr searches helpful in determining what I'm looking for in a scene for the film that I'm carrying.

Shelf Drill have Fliker blocked...............must have been guys looking at marytakesitupthebum site :) :) :)

This thread is hilarious.

How many LUF members does it take to screw in a light bulb??

It is as if you tube doesn't exist...

You can get a PHD in photography from you tube....

And I agree (with the troll :) ) about medium format...

$10 that Neil gets the itch for one in a few months time assuming the film GAS catches on...

10 more bucks that he goes for a Hasselblad...

I just can't help but to foreshadow a little b/c this thread is like watching a movie for the 3rd or 4th time in slow motion...

aha, that squares the circle for me!

[of course I am kidding (and also am not subscribing)]

If you get sufficiently up the learning curve with film, you'll quickly realize that the S2 is really no substitute for MF film.

Get a Rolleiflex.

I actually went and had a look at them on eBay but quickly realised they are for old farts so logged out and will never look again :)

Neil, assuming (always a dangerous thing to do) that the film bug truly bites, there will come thoughts about negative size - after all, size matters ;)  Those itty-bitty little negatives you are peering at, a mere 35 x 24mm - pah!  6x6cm?  Better but then there's 6x9cm, now we're talking.  Bypass the Hasselblads and Rolleis, what you really need to accompany your German Leica is a Texas Leica   ;)

If he gets up any learning curve, he'll realise that the S2 is not 'medium format'.

Somehow, I think the curve is a little too curved......
