Well I suspect you're love affair with film may be short-lived!

mate I'm going to do it all myself when I get off the rig next hitch. I'll be shooting a roll of film in the morning and you'll be seeing the results the same day on here

Serious or not, this thread is a hoot, love it.

Gary

Its serious my end............ I know some of the members like to raise hell. With this thread I have gone out and bought a Leica M6 and now shot 5 rolls of film, 7 actually.

The very first was 36 frames of Black and White on the first frame as I didn't load the film correctly (we talked about that one already.

The 6th was also a F$%# up. I was shooting a very pretty jetty in Penang early morning with my M6 in B&W. I only had 4 frames left on the roll so I took my time for the best light as the sun came up. I fired off those 4 shots then put the Leica Q on the tripod and took a bunch of pictures of that.

Then panic kicked in. I forgot that I had a roll of color film in my pocket, so quickly grabbed the M6 and nearly VERY FRIGGING nearly took the base plate off before rewinding the B&W film ........................Now that would have been a real F$%$ up if that had happened, in fact the M6 would have probably died a death in the Penang Straights at that point :) :)

Anyway I quickly rewound the film and loaded the color film...........now this is where I f$%$#@ up.

The sun was rising so fast that I didn't bother to check and see if the film had caught the sprocket, I just shut the back door, put the half case on, mounted it on the tripod and bobs your uncle 42 frames later I realised that I was still on the first frame...........Bloody plonker Williams :o  :o  :o

I have this impression of Malaysia being randomly drilled full of holes......

I would have no idea about that I have never drilled a hole in Malaysia...........I drilled lots of other things in Malaysia but holes isn't one of them :) :) :)

Put in the film just as shown on the pictogram (Visible, when you open the baseplate).

Close the backdoor, put on the baseplate, release and wind the film twice.

Then turn the rewind knob gentle, as rewinding the film. When you feel resistance, the film

will be transported properly.

I never had a problem with film advance in my M6/M4 when doing it like this.
