asap Posted January 24, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have started to notice these odd artifacts that are present in my image. They seem to be a malfunctioning of the sensor, in bright conditions a red line is produced that is quite pronounced. I suspect this should be a sensor problem. In low light conditions, there does not seem to this problem, only in bright conditions. Is this covered by the Leica warranty? Thank you. Welcome, dear visitor! Leica Guy Posted January 24, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 24, 2016 Or there's a laser beam vertical in all three of your photos. :-) I would contact Leica service. It sure looks like something that could be associated with a faulty sensor. It's in all three photos regardless of brightness. Good luck. Please keep us posted on what you find. If you've had it for a very short time such as a few days or even a month, I'd return it to the shop, reject it in line with your United Kingdom consumer rights, and ask for a replacement. (Leica service department may be helpful, but you could find yourself relinquishing the unit while they investigate,,and incurring postage costs and transport risks). Let the dealer do that. Thank you for the response. Unfortunately I had picked up the camera whilst on a trip in London, and do not see myself being back there in the foreseeable future. I will check out my local store (Bangkok) to see if there is anything that can be done.
jaapv Posted January 24, 2016 Share #5 Posted January 24, 2016 Dead pixel line, sensor damage from cosmic radiation. Leica can remap the camera, for its very young age it should be replaced.
