They should consider marching around the hospital grounds shouting their opinions of Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt & Co. I've been involved with several strikes / industrial actions … and we made a much better job of putting across our grievances to both the media and the public. Is this to supposedly make them stand out (in which case it just makes them look like a road crew waiting for something), or is it a hospital requirement, or is it now a government requirement for picket lines? Don't give the USA any ideas: Protesters must wear safe view apparel! Oh, then road crews would be at risk! The bums fixing our roads are left-wingers! FWIW, I do wear a high visibility vest and cap when photographing on the road. And I learned when living on thousands of acres of wilderness to never, ever wear a fur coat and cap. The protest / picket line was adjacent to a very busy road so assume the Hi Viz jackets were a H&S precaution. I'd just deposited my car for its MOT test and was hoping to see the striking doctors on my walk home through the hospital grounds - hoping they'd be at the hospital main entrance - but they chosen to use a roadside area where drivers could see them - passing cars' 'horns' were encouraging their action. dunk Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

And in this case, if they were to be injured as a result of not wearing Hi Viz vests, and being run over by an errant wheelchair, stretcher trolley, or suchlike, there would be scant few doctors to treat the injured doctors. As a senior medic, I won't voice my support for them here, nor point out that as a profession we've been crapped on for years, 'cos that would be highly inappropriate. Nice shots with the C though.
