Scaling in C1 LE

Sorry for what is probably an obvious question, but I'm giving C1 a try, and I can't figure out how to scale output. The width and height parameters are grayed-out. The help says use the Scaling% function, but I can't find it. Thanks.

John,

In my view, this is the most serious shortfall of C1LE. You CANNOT scale your output. C1PRO allows it, but for the $400 + upgrade, forget it! Scale in PS. A drag, but C1LE, when you learn it with the piss poor help files, is very good. The other much needed improvement is "graded" tagging, as in the old RawShooter (gobbled up by Adobe:mad: ). An extremely useful function when selecting/editing files for different reasons.

I have emailed Phase One with these suggestions, at there invitation, so I hope they find their way into the the awaited Ver. 4, much overdue!

Meanwhile, Ver. 3 is excellent IMHO, just frustrating.

Thank, everyone. I suspected that would be the anwer. Still, after finally giving C1 a chance, I'm with you, Erl. Very nice results with M8 files.

Well, I'm with Tim on this one. I'm using C1 LE (v. 3.7.7) on a Mac and using the 'single cog' processing feature, I have scaling available to any percentage I care to put in. I've been using it a lot just recently to produce scaled-down jpgs for making reference prints (60% = A5). Assuming that this is what you were looking for, I'm puzzled as to why some of us have this and some do not. I'm using the version of C1 LE that came with the M8, upgraded to the later version, but both versions have this feature.

I too have scaling on my Mac version of 3.7.7 - I would guess all the Mac C1LE's have this. As far as upscaling is concerned, I am not sure it is as good as the bi-cubic upscaling in PS or PSE. I used to use Genuine Fractals but now I don't bother. The upscaling in PSE4 seems just as good to me. Again I used to do it in 10% stages but cannot detect any difference if you do it all at one go for example from standard M8 to A3+ at 300 dpi (5800 x 3866 pixels).

From what I can make out, The Mac's DO have the scaling facility, the PC's do NOT. A gross oversight by Phase One. I sincerely hope they redress this anomoly with Ver. 4 ... soon!
