mmx_2 Posted January 11, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone! Inspired by all the "Let's see you R, let's see your SL etc" threads, I decided to put all my Leica gear (the Minolta CLE counts because it came out of a collaboration with Leitz ) into one photo and just call it, "Let's see your family". So, here is mine, now let's see yours! Regards, Joakim
Advertisement Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Hi mmx_2, Take a look here Let's see your family!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Echo63 Posted January 11, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 11, 2016 Heres mine "100 years" Tshirt - with the Leica logo made out of the words of Oskar Barnack's story "How I Invented the Leica." my favourite shirt, it fits me like my Perth Apple store opening shirt, and has a little lens cap/card pocket on the back (that i found after i had been worn it every second day for two weeks) I will be adding a few more leica shirts to the wardrobe too M240 with a strap i built, similar to the A+A Slider, but using the end pieces off the stock leica strap Edit- i really should have cleaned the RF windows before taking a pic. 50 f2.5 Summarit - with cheap eBay hood, that has had the vent holes covered with Cinefoil and gaffa, to black it out so i can use 52mm filters on the front (yes its threaded) 90 f4 M Rokkor - with stock rubber hood, which also conveniently has 52mm threads on the front. I also have an old Leica book i rescued (it was being thrown out with a pile of other books, and 50 M Noctilux coffee mug that didn't make the pic. Welcome, dear visitor! jmahto Posted January 19, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 19, 2016 Not sure why there is not much interest in this interesting thread. Maybe "family" is private concept for many, or as in my case, I have to get all my family members in one place to get the picture. I finally did that and here it is. God knows why I have three 90mm lens which is my least used focal length. (L to R: 28 Cron ASPH, 40 Summicron-C, 50 Lux ASPH, M240+35 FLE, 90 Macro Elmar-M, 90 thin Tele-Elmarit, 90 Elmar collapsible, APO 2X, 135 Tele-Elmar, 80-200 Vario f/4, 400 Telyt 6.8 (behind) and R-M adaptor, focusing helicoid, extension tube in the front) Welcome, dear visitor! Flu Posted January 20, 2016 Share #9 Posted January 20, 2016 & moving On -> Cars in your Garage, Credit Cards & Credit Rating... -- Come on guys'' mines bigger than yours""""" My perspective of this thread wasn't a "mines bigger than yours" point of view until you pointed it out. I now do see how it can be viewed as such. IMO, this thread is just a celebration and showcase of gear lust - which I don't personally see a problem with. I guess it's because I've learned to never be in a competition with anyone but myself. It's just the state of mind I choose because in reality, I'm just a spec of dust as there will always be a ton of bigger fish in the sea.

It's just the state of mind I choose because in reality, I'm just a spec of dust as there will always be a ton of bigger fish in the sea.I agree. Speaking for myself, I don't think in the line of "my gear is better than yours". Whereas, when I am looking at the photographs then I do think whether the picture is better than what I could have managed. That's more for learning though. What do you do with your gear when you are not taking pictures with it? Get them together and give them a chance to be in front of a camera.

Exodies Posted January 20, 2016 Share #13 Posted January 20, 2016 I was enjoying the pictures of gear, especially those in their natural habitat rather than posed for the shoot. I didn't feel intimidated by the larger collections but am in awe of the neat arrangements; my shelves are a mess. I hope manoleica's comment doesn't stop the flow. scott kirkpatrick Posted January 20, 2016 Share #14 Posted January 20, 2016 What do you have that is truly valuable? Anything rare, wonderful, something that money cannot buy? Yes, three paintings. A watercolor by a fairly distinguished artist from the region where I grew up, and oils by my grandmother and by a wonderful but also long gone great aunt. Also lots of Leicas. I'll see if I can call them together for a family picture. scott

Anything rare, wonderful, something that money cannot buy? & moving On -> Cars in your Garage, Credit Cards & Credit Rating... -- Come on guys'' mines bigger than yours""""" There are only four things that are truly valuable: your health, your family, your friends, and your memories. And yet many folks I know my age (60) have squandered all of them. Some of my friends and acquaintances haven't made it to 60. Nothing here is truly valuable, but threads like this are fun and entertaining. Allow folks their indulgences.
