Used to have a full Nikon DSLR system before I discovered Leica.

Still have a Hasselblad V system - 503, Flexbody, and 905 with digital and film backs. I use that for work related photography of our buildings) am an architect) Leicas are used for personal photography projects

In addition to my M240 I have a D-Lux109 and an Olympus OM-D E-M1.  I still have a Ricoh GXR M mount which has not had much use recently. I sold my Pentax DSLR and lenses a few years ago when I switched to the Olympus m43 system.

I have a 5D Mk3 that gets very rarely used.  When we went to Africa last Christmas it came with me as I felt it would be better for the animals (70-200 with 1.6 extender).  Apart from that its the 240 M-P for me

I have a pair of M240's which I use for just about everything now.  With live view/EVF and adapter(s) I can do telephoto and macro with it, which I couldn't on the M9 unless it was with the Visoflex III which was cumbersome to carry on trips.

My emergency backup camera is a Sony Nex-6 with M adapter.

I also have a Panasonic DMC-ZS40 which has a 24-720 optical zoom, which when powered off is the size of a smartphone.  I use it at shows/concerts because I can get headshots from the nosebleed section and never a problem bringing it in in my pocket.

I still have my pair of Canon 5D's and a bunch of lenses, although I sold all the L glass ages ago.  The cameras and lenses together are worth half an M240 so I'm keeping them even though I rarely have the energy to lug it anywhere.  Also have a Rebel XSi (not sure of the European designation) and the light but sharp 18-55 and 55-250 zooms, which I use for pics of the grandkids, and other parties, because AF works best for me with scampering kids and pets, and because if I want to be in any shots it's a camera anyone can use and I'm not afraid to let them.

Of course I have a bunch of fllm cameras too, but TBH have not shot a roll of film in several years.

The M-E (now 262) is my pleasure camera.

The X100T is my "no excuse not to take a camera everywhere" tool.

The Canon 6D for when I need a DSLR.

Old Rolleiflex TLR for a change of pace along with a few film M's.

Ricoh GR as a snapshot and supplemental travel camera.

I keep switching between main cameras. Either my M240 or the MP (film).

I also have my wife's MP, Hasselblad 500cm and Canon 5DMK3 to use when needed.

Did you ever resolve that 'scratching' problem with your MP?

Did you ever resolve that 'scratching' problem with your MP?

It's still at Leica CS in Wetzlar being looked at. At first I got a response from Leica CS that the scratches inside different parts of the camera would not cause any functional differences... I then had to ask if that ment that Leica thinks it's OK for to sell new MP's with pre-scratched parts inside... Then they decided to re-evaluate things the 16th of December... Haven't heard anything more... I also just sent my Lux 50 ASPH back again, after having had it at service recently. After a weeks of use after getting it back from service it quickly started to develop a up-down wobble between the lens mount ring and the focusing ring... I question what's going on with their QC and services departments...

Hmmm.

For everyday digital - Leica Q

For everyday film - Zeiss Ikon ZM - 28mm Elmarit-M

For retro posing when around my 'check out my 61 core processor' media & film friends - Leica M3 - 50mm Summicron

:)

A big 28mm only fan then? How often do you crop with the Q?

I think you will be surprised at the number of Leica users that don't mix it!  No DSLR for me anymore.  I work within the capabilities of my preferred M digital system and my Q.  Once I ditched the big bodies and large lenses I became liberated.

To add to my pleasure, I no longer want complex menus, multiple configurable buttons that confuse me, and oversize accessories.  Even my bag is smaller.

International travel is much simpler.

[bold mine]   Well, if you ever change your mind, you can ignore DSLRs and not have to look any further than Leica....either the S or SL system will bring you back  to large lenses, multiple configurable buttons, AF and big bags. :p

Funny how many M users here now rave about these latest systems, having seemingly sworn off bigger gear.  What goes around....

A lot, but I do like the latitude it gives me at 28mm. I also like the perspective even after cropping.

Having said that I still use the 50 a lot and with 28mm I'm getting much better at getting closer to the subject.

In my film days (4 decades) I used cameras from 9 different companies (including Leica...M and R), ranging from 35mm to large format (both 4x5 and 8x10), including 3 different medium format sizes (with rangefinder and OVF).

After going digital in 2009 and abandoning film and darkroom, I sold everything and bought two M8.2s (still have one), and now an M240.  It was an easy transition after decades with film Ms, and I didn't miss all the other gear options, even though each addressed different photo needs and objectives.

That was until recently, when I developed an urge to get back into more landscape work and started thinking about the wider and longer end of things.   Do I do this using the M240, the S or SL, a DSLR, or other?  (See my post #54).  Don't know exactly yet, but I'm leaning toward a DSLR.   The lenses will be large no matter the camera, so it really comes down to the viewing system that suits best, the lens choices, the ergonomics and build (weather resistance) and system cost/value.  I'll likely wait for the 5D IV and rent it before deciding.

In the meantime, the M works just fine for most needs.

Thanks . "Premium Plus" travel insurance paid $4000.00, which they say is the limit. I lost the M240 with a 35mm cron aspherical in an eveready case. Next time I'll research my cover. Anyone with ideas out there? Even for daily outings it would be good to be covered. Any tips or info will be appreciated. Cheers.
