Excellent question!! I bought the Magpul QD swivel to attach to the bottom of the RRS baseplate. I attached the Black Rapid Breathe wrist strap to it.

I like having the strap coming from the bottom right of the camera rather than the side... It doesn't get in the way at all.

That looks very good! I only recently saw that Magpul socket on the later RRS camera plates. That is how a wrist strap ought to be! I need the L bracket to work best with my tripod setup anyway, so it's probably time to get the RRS baseplate, L, and magpul swivel. I think I'd rather have a different strap material than the nylon belt, though, so I'll wait for the other bits to come in before I decide what to do there.

Thanks for posting the products you used. :D

You can use whatever you want to attach to the Magpul... I really like it!!

The Benz strap didn't seem to sit where I needed it to.

Harry's strap works well, given how I use it on my hand. But the upper right corner of the camera is fundamentally the wrong place to attach a wrist strap ... to any camera. A tripod screw mount, which should always be under the lens axis, is similarly the wrong place to attach a wrist strap to. Neither of these locations make sense given the geometry of our forearms and hands.

But ... Let's not divert our attention from photos too much in this thread. There are other places where we can vent our frustrations on straps and such. :D

Thumbs up for the Magpul QD swivel; it is very well made!

For heavy weight (say 400mm f2.8 on a high-end pro body), I use the RSS/Magpul combo, attached to the lens foot. No problem - or worry - at all. Sometimes I carry the 400mm on one side and the SL+90-800mm on the other side. I think this is pretty much the only way to have quick access to two, relatively heavy systems. Yes, it may look monstrous, but who cares in the wilderness... For lenses without lens foot, I attach the RSS BQDS plate to the body's RSS-plate/L-plate.

The nylon webbing material in the above RSS/Magpul link is an overkill for light(er) body-lens combinations; but there are softer alternatives out there.

And here another system. Many alternatives...

Leica SL / Elmarit-M 24mm asph

Taken at the Lake District. Since my return I have decided to sell my M lenses 24/35/75/90 Elmarit-M and 3 Summarit-M in favour of the SL24-90mm. (I have kept ahold of my Summilux pre-asph 50mm and a 28mm Elmarit-M last ver. pre-asph)

My Wife & I are visiting the Severn Valley railway tomorrow & I can finally get to test out the 24-90 in a real Photography situation.
