We're renewing a stadium on a tight schedule for the Maccabiah games this summer.  An internationally certified line painting crew showed up today.

Sounds like you are quite happy with the performance?  Did you get the Canon version? Which adapter do you use? Please share some more pictures with this lens!

Thanks,

Rob

Yes Rob, I found the lens to render rather nicely (Canon version with canon-M -SLadapters). I am happy to post more shots from this lens, it's great for portrait, wide open it is pleasantly soft and sharpens up well over my satisfaction by f2

If I had not my LEICA APO-SUMMICRON-R 90/2 ASPH, I should have gone for this Mitakon Speedmaster 85/1.2. I had the LEICA SUMMILUX-R 80/1.4 but had to let it go 20 years ago when I bought the R8... I think the Mitakon is better. The only weakness of it is his minimum focus distance of 1m, that's all..

Wonderful photo!

I have been weighing all sorts of options for a medium telephoto. I tried a Leica 75 f2 and just was not enthused by it, as it was too close in length to the noctilux I have. Figured I just would never really pick it up rather as a first choice.

Also, tried out a pre-owned 90mm 2.4 and it was very nice and sharp; when I decided to purchase it though it had been sold.

The Leica 90, r 80 1.4, and Sigma Art are all options I am thinking about at the moment, so appreciate your input. The Mitakon seems like a wonderful option; one I had not really considered before.

This is all hobby for me. At the moment I've just been using the SL vario elmarit 24-90 whenever I want more length. But, would love to have some shallow depth of field and low light performance.

Thanks,

Rob

The R 80/1.4 is an affordable choice and excellent performer.

I've thought a fair bit about this and finally decided to go longer still with the Sigma Art 135/1.8.

Gives Noctilux like DOF wide open, great for candid portraiture from an unobtrusive distance and is useful for landscape/architectural detail.

I have 75, 80 and 90 covered already by multiple Leica lenses and in reality use them very little. The 90-280 is wonderful for portraiture but too heavy to routinely carry about 'just in case'

Although I have the Noctilux and SL 50/1.4 ...... the 24-90 is such a good all round performer it takes rather specific needs to displace it from the SL.
