How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

This was a single exposure with deep shadows and bright highlights. I did the raw conversion with an HDR program called Aurora HDR (highly recommended). B&W conversion and stylizing were done with ON1 Photo RAW. As a finishing touch, I added the tone.

SL with 280mm f/2.8 APO-Telyt-R + APO-Extender-R 2X wide open . . . 

Another combination that needs to be stopped down a stop for best contrast detail.  And I don't fancy handholding 4kg of gear to shoot at f/8.  The Vario zoom does a better job with the 2X wide open and weighs about 60% less . . . 

Pied Fantail on (yet another) gloomy day . . .
