SL + 24-90SL + SF64 flash (manual mode)

Taken during rehearsals for Grieg's Peer Gynt orchestral suite. It's rarely possible to use flash with dancers outside those rehearsals where they want some publicity shots or in the studio. I wasn't told till I arrived that this orchestral piece would be joined by dancers, so at short notice had to sort out my on-camera flash technique (which I'm not the best at). This is one of the better ones - ISO 800, f/3, 1/60, 24mm. Manual flash mode worked better than TTL or A, because the movement was too confusing for accurate auto exposure. I shall post some others later from the actual performance, where no flash could be used.

SL + 24-90SL

Mostly taken at ISO 6400 and 1/60-1/125

I used Zone focusing; it was too difficult to get the spot on a fast moving target, and if I tried tracking, I found they moved out of the frame faster than I could keep up (I was sitting on the floor in front of the front row of seats, so was close to the dancers).

No flash, all shot with electronic shutter.
