Vikas, yes, I was so very fortunate.

 

Scattered foliage down but for the most part but very little structural damage. No house damage.  It was nonetheless quite unsettling to sit through the storm in a well protected home (which I will not likely do again) and to listen to the warnings about tornado activity touchdowns on the weather stations. Had we been hit by a category 4 or 5, as had been expected a day earlier it would have been absolutely devastating to south Florida. 

 

I was without utilities for several days. 95 degree stagnant temperature.  I believe 80% have now gotten power restored. 

 

The Florida Keys was completely ravaged. Unbelievable damage there.

Sounds scary.  Where I live most of the time, in Singapore, the weather is always warm or wet but on the whole quite benign.  No hurricanes, no tornados no earthquakes, nothing.  Just across on the other side of the Indonesian islands they get everything.  Storms, quakes, volcanos, tsunamis ...
