I just got back from Syria.  I took only the SL and used the 24-90 for most of the time.  The 50/1.4 is really special, though, and I used it when I could.

Sorry, for the double post but I love the colors of the SL and the look with this lens.

From the project 'Blood & Water'

My dad is fading. Slowly the memories and mannerisms that made him who he was are losing their colour and bleaching out to white. He is becoming unbearably light and as his history fades so my experience of him degrades and my own memories of the man who brought me up, taught me to be who I am, are being replaced by this pernicious disease. It is like Communism, replacing the history of the countries it robbed.

My mother, a force of nature, carries on. She cares for him, she cries for him and she prays that his heart will finish long before the final memories do.

Thanks buddy. My mum's patience is about to run out on the one of her but my dad would probably sit for hours if I asked him to! if anyone is interested in the lighting, the room is naturally lit by the big window you can see in the background with a blind drawn across that helps to diffuse the natural light. I used a Profoto B2 lifted high and just in front of the window with a 90cm beauty dish and diffuser firing into the room and angled down 45 degrees aiming directly at a large silver reflector that is placed right in front of the subject also at 45 degrees upwards. I dropped the shutter to 1/90th sec. stopped the aperture down to f/2.8 (50mm lens) and set the ISO to 50 then adjusted the strobe from there.
