Boring stuff Dunk - it's here if you're interested:

I think Andreas will probably put it up on the blog sooner or later.

Love your last wood carving shot . . . . although I'm not convinced that the dog looks that convinced :)

Aha!  Those Summicrons.  I've started the comparison files downloading, but won't pore over them until I've drawn a full glass of observing fluid from the tap.

I posted some comparisons at infinity with the 28 Elmarit-asph (old vs new versions) a while back, and had similar results.  There was a big improvement wide open, seen on both the SL and M240, but it was even more obvious on the SL.  If you view the 28/2.8 as a nice small travel lens, to be used outdoors and shot at f/5.6 whenever possible, the differences were much smaller.  I would have thought the Elmarit, because of its small size, was the bigger challenge on conventional mounts like Sony's.  I used to have both Elmarit and Summicron, but now stick to the new Elmarit and the Summilux 28s.

cheers,

scott

Some shire horse images taken at Burghley House Country Fair Stamford 31 May 2016 - I'm not a heavy horse expert so unsure of the actual breeds.

I've seen those comparisons and found them quite interesting.  Didn't realize the new lenses made such a difference on the SL.

Thanks.
