Paulus Posted November 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Until now no news of a new Leica M. But because christmas is coming. I have some requests for Leica AG Please make the new Leica the same as the M-P 240 with some enhancements. Better sensor Higher ISO 3 pictures per second and holding until SD card is full. That's all, thank you!
Advertisement Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Hi Paulus, Take a look here New Leica M in September 2016? The speculations.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FrozenInTime Posted November 4, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 4, 2015 Please also make a new camera the same size as the MP film camera with the absolute minimum set of digital features. I think there is a good case for a 'more' M camera and a 'less' M camera - but I don't know if Leica can divide M resources to make both happen. In some ways the SL would be a better 'more' platform and the M the 'less' platform. However realistically a tweaked M-P / M.240 seems most likely. Agree higher ISO is a priority

toyfel Posted November 4, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 4, 2015 Don't wait three years with the corresponding Monochrom version after launch of the new M.

John Ricard Posted November 4, 2015 Share #9 Posted November 4, 2015 Was your title supposed to make us click because we thought maybe you actually knew the specs? Wouldn't "My desire for the next M" be a more accurate title, rather than putting "the specs" in a post that has no actual specs?
jaapv Posted November 4, 2015 Share #10 Posted November 4, 2015 You're going to buy an SL anyway. Rather not... Used in four years time maybe.

Paulus Posted November 4, 2015 Author Share #14 Posted November 4, 2015 Did I miss the specs somewhere? No Rick, IMHO that's all. If it's not enough, ad some It would not suprise me, if that's all there will be in 2016.The difference between the M9 and M 240 was maybe greater, but IMHO it will be possible that Leica puts the specs in the SL and leeves the M " just the way you are "+ the 3 above. Small changes were always Leica's way in the M. Only time they did it different was the M5 and see what happened then.
bocaburger Posted November 4, 2015 Share #15 Posted November 4, 2015 Please don't make it so attractive that I feel compelled to replace my M240. There were four things I disliked about the M9 that made the M240 attractive to me: shutter arming sound, inconsistent/untrustable jpegs, tripod attachment that stressed the baseplate latch and cracking/corroding sensor glass. There is only one thing I dislike about the M240, the LED-illuminated frame lines...and I doubt with near certainty Leica will backpedal on that. So I think I'm pretty safe
Peter Kilmister Posted November 4, 2015 Share #16 Posted November 4, 2015 What are the betting odds on this topic's total entries exceeding 100 pages? Most of it will be waffle so the bookmakers might favour a high contribution. Meaningful entries will probably take place in the final days before release from insiders. Until then ... goodnight. Small changes were always Leica's way in the M. Only time they did it different was the M5 and see what happened then. Git it. I just read through fast. This is the "what do we want" thread. Ok, I have to disagree with you. I do believe that Leica understands the M is the legacy and the flagship camera. It holds a position as the RF camera. I believe it will stay just that and in that sense it will not change much. But, I see Leica as innovating in this new chapter of their history. I can't imagine they won't change the M in many ways: Smaller Better EVF (hot shoe) Better video Separate HDMI and mic/headphone jack - like the SL Better rear LCD Better Sensor Better processor and what goes with it - like the SL Great jpeg color and b&w Great Leica color 4-button control on back - like the SL and S Drop the video button Front control button will be dropped First time offered with aluminum body To the casual glance the M will have a cleaner look but, it will be easier to control with the new layout. Everyone will want one Rick

Rick Posted November 5, 2015 Share #19 Posted November 5, 2015 Ok, WiFi. But, the buttons are going to be more SL like and the camera is going to be slightly thinner. Rick
