Spectacular post-sunset.

Never been there before and so close to Melbourne!

Thanks Mark. We spent several days in Tasmania first and then flew to Melbourne to pick up the rental car from the airport. We spent several days in Mornington Peninsula and actually I visited Cape Schanck in the evening just to shoot the sunset. But it turned out the post sunset was more spectacular. To this day, I believe none of the other digital Ms I have used (M8 and M240) could outperform the DMR's ability to capture and render colours.

I love Cradle Mountain Akiralx. We first went there just after we were married in 1993 and did the the seven day Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair walk (not Cradle Huts as we couldn't afford it).  We climbed through the saddle and up the mountain - boulders the size of trucks.  Unfortunately for display purposes here most of mine were shot with my F3/T.

I have a photo almost identical to yours at Dove Lake, just a bit over to the side with the hut cut out, but in the cold and snow!

Very dramatic photos Kaneda, especially the Jaws of Death.

Thanks Mark.  To be frank, I am not good at landscapes. So my recent trip to the Grampians has given me lots to practice with :)

Yes, it was my first visit, my wife took me for my 50th.  I loved the place and am now planning to retire there from Melbourne...

Just popped back in to catch up. Lovely reminders of photogenic Tasmania. I think maybe everyone who visits Dove Lake has that hut/boatshed in a shot somewhere!
This would be M7 and maybe APO Summicron M 75 ASPH on Fujifilm  something transparency. This would have been ~January 08. I remember being unprepared for how cool it was for Aussie summer time!
I am sure that there is a photo in my wife's archives somewhere of me squatting on rocks in the water's edge!
