You've captured the scale of that 'boulder' really well with the people in front of the pool. Like the reflections. Please keep posting!

MarkP Posted November 23, 2015 Author Share #310 Posted November 23, 2015 Stuart, nice when 'foreigners' show me parts of my country I've not seen (although I have flown low over Cape Leveque in a small plane) Regards, Mark
platypus Posted November 24, 2015 Share #311 Posted November 24, 2015 A typically stark Monaro landscape; big sky with cirrus cloud, a lichen covered pink granite outcrop, native grass, a blackberry bush, stunted eucalyptus and a rickety fence line. Anthony Healy Posted November 24, 2015 Share #314 Posted November 24, 2015 Welcome Anthony and thanks for posting here. I haven't been to Cathedral Gorge. It is now on my hit list! You've captured the scale of that 'boulder' really well with the people in front of the pool. Like the reflections. Please keep posting! Mark, Cathedral Gorge amphitheatre is HUGE. During the "WET" the rock shute on the top left channels water straight into the pool. As the water pressure drops off it then runs back under the overhang and stains the surface. I didn't have a wide enough lens to get it all in with one shot. A 21 mm or even 17mm lens may be needed. Welcome, dear visitor! MarkP Posted November 24, 2015 Author Share #316 Posted November 24, 2015 Great scene Dee, especially the backs of all the sheep The square format works well with many of these. Do you frame for square format at the time you take the photo or fiddle with the format later?
platypus Posted November 24, 2015 Share #317 Posted November 24, 2015 Great scene Dee, especially the backs of all the sheep The square format works well with many of these. Do you frame for square format at the time you take the photo or fiddle with the format later? Thanks Mark, glad you like it, it's been posted before but I've run out of 'new' material (not that any of my digital stuff is particularly old) and will just have to hit the road to get some more for this thread. Square format?....I see it as uncropped 35mm...am I missing something? (please explain, heh heh)
david strachan Posted November 25, 2015 Share #318 Posted November 25, 2015 That's a threatening sky Dee. Looks like lightning on the way. Another dramatic image from the High Plains Platypus! cheers Dave S
MarkP Posted November 25, 2015 Author Share #319 Posted November 25, 2015 Square format?....I see it as uncropped 35mm...am I missing something? (please explain, heh heh) No - it was me. I was looking at it on a computer at work which cropped the right side of the photo to a perfect square to format it within the page. Once I reduced the size of the content (control -). The photo was then revealed to me in it's entirety in it's glorious 35mm format!
