jaques Posted October 13, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted October 13, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) So Voightlander have done it again! once more they add to their expanding line of M lenses- not sattisfied with having the fastest M mount 35mm lens avialable they have now made the widest ever (?) m mount lens- at just 10mm! Â Anyone here interested in trying out this new lens? I find 15mm already very wide- as wide as I have ever been without going fish-eyed-Â I imagine 10mm would be crazy wide? Advertisement Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Hi jaques, Take a look here 2 new Voightlander lenses. 10mm Hyper Wide Heliar!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
MarkP Posted October 13, 2015 Share #2 Â Posted October 13, 2015 I haven't gone beyond 21mm but really want a Distagon T* 2,8/15 ZM. Perhaps I should try 15mm CV lens first to see if I can handle this focal length. However 10-12mm is insane!

bocaburger Posted October 13, 2015 Share #4  Posted October 13, 2015 I've had their 12mm LTM version for years. It's a full-time job keeping it level on more than one axis, and keeping my feet out of the shot. I can't imagine what use I would have for a 10mm on FF.  I used the 12 a lot more when I had Epson and M8 crop-sensor cameras, and currently it's part of my Nex-6 kit. Says they're redesigning the 12 for digital also, but unlike the 15 there isn't a color cast issue with the original 12, so doubtful there will be as many takers for it. Mine's an LTM version bought used, it's plenty enough money for me to have tied up in a lens I take half a dozen shots per year with. jaques Posted October 13, 2015 Author Share #5  Posted October 13, 2015 Voigtländer... yes- I know how it's actually spelt- must have sold and handled over 100 Voigtländer cameras over the years- never the less my brain insists there should be an H in Voigtländer. james.liam Posted October 13, 2015 Share #7 Â Posted October 13, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Like fisheyes, these UW's have greater appeal in the abstract than applicability in real life. Once owned a 14-24 Nikkor and it was splendid but I probably used it twice a year. A beast to lug along on extended trips, though nothing could beat it for interiors or landscapes in need of such a FOV,

rramesh Posted October 14, 2015 Share #9 Â Posted October 14, 2015 I am very pleased with the 15 V3. If the 10 and the 12 are anything like this, then it would be good news indeed. Â However, I will not likely use a wider lens than the 15. The 21 is the widest I use on a regular basis. The 15 is what i would call a 'specialist' wide lens, and extra care is needed to get the framing right.
terrycym Posted October 14, 2015 Share #10  Posted October 14, 2015 I have a Canon 11-24mm for my 5Diii you have to be very carefully with your composition at the 11mm end otherwise you get a picture of loads of nothing in the foreground. Get up really close and it works superbly.

HeinzX Posted October 14, 2015 Share #12  Posted October 14, 2015 I have a Canon 11 - 24 mm too for my 5 D III. This is an excellent lens - at 11 mm it is necessary to be careful with composition. Anyway - pictures can be made with this lens, which cannot be made with other lenses. In theory it is possible to use this lens on a M 240. Just for fun I have adapted it with a Fotodiox adapter I use for other Canon lenses to adapt it on my M 240, for my MP-E 65 for example. But i did not yet use the Canon 11 - 24 mm lens really on my M 240 and I doubt I will ever. The picture may show why: Welcome, dear visitor! FlashGordonPhotography Posted October 17, 2015 Share #15 Â Posted October 17, 2015 I've already ordered the 10mm and the upgrade of the 12mm. I already use the V1 12mm I have every day (real estate agents love what it can do). I love ultra wides and the challenges they have. pico Posted October 17, 2015 Share #16 Â Posted October 17, 2015 Good, Gordon. Your work is probably better than the WA crap we see in my village. Â I do miss the days before digital when transparencies from a true 6x9cm camera with a 47mm Super Angulon ruled. Oh, and a 35mm Rodenstock over 6x12cm. Â Moving on, sadly...
