rpavich Posted September 13, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ugh. I'm cameraless.I just sent my "new to me" M6 to Sherry for a light leak fix and the MP viewfinder upgrade. That will be several weeks before it comes back. To make things worse, I purchased a Minolta XD5 and ran a roll through it and it was a light leak demon and also had a sluggish / intermittent shutter and needless to say back it went to the seller. My Zorki is broken also, and so the ONLY working camera we have in the house is my wife's Yashica GSN.I tried to make myself feel better by purchasing a Minolta X-700 from KEH yesterday but that won't be here until the end of the week. It's gonna be a long week for sure.

spydrxx Posted September 13, 2015 Share #5 Posted September 13, 2015 Hey - the GSN has a good sharp lens...remeber the best camera is the one you have when needed.
rpavich Posted September 13, 2015 Author Share #6 Posted September 13, 2015 Hey - the GSN has a good sharp lens...remeber the best camera is the one you have when needed. It actually does really well but I hate the faint viewfinder. After an M film camera every other viewfinder irritates the crap out of me.

rpavich Posted September 14, 2015 Author Share #8 Posted September 14, 2015 What happened to the Epson? Or are you allergic to digital now Yes, I still have it but...I may not be allergic...but I do feel itchy.
pinchers of peril Posted September 14, 2015 Share #9 Posted September 14, 2015 Yes, I still have it but...I may not be allergic...but I do feel itchy. Ha ha! I'm curious to hear what you think of the viewfinder update. I've been looking into that but I feel like my wife will kill me if I spend any more money on camera stuff in the near future. I've definitely experienced the whiteout flare on my M6 and it's kind of annoying when it happens; I just have to decide if it's $300 annoying. Also, as you are experiening, I don't know if I want to be without my camera for a month.

Also, as you are experiening, I don't know if I want to be without my camera for a month. Me either but it was now or never. I was tired of using a lens cap! Also, Sherry said that the best part about the upgrade wasn't the flare resistance but the amazing low light improvement. She said it's nothing short of astounding. In any case yes, I did see that thread. I will be glad to get it back.
enboe Posted September 15, 2015 Share #13 Posted September 15, 2015 Any chance you're in Los Angeles? I have an XD11 you could have. Eric
jaques Posted September 15, 2015 Share #14 Posted September 15, 2015 I would take him up on that offer! I was just about to suggest- as you are a Minolta fan- check out the XD11! awesome camera. I wish there was a full frame DSLR just exactly like the XD11- same size, apperture and shutter priority. Perfect.

BerndReini Posted September 16, 2015 Share #17 Posted September 16, 2015 Buy an old Olympus stylus or Yashica T4 on ebay. Sharp 35mm lenses, loaded up with some TriX or Portra and you are set until your M returns.
