Scene from a german movie:

Jede Menge Kohle (A. Winkelmann)
There will come a day when the saw will cut

She: 'What are you doing with the screwdriver?'

He: 'I go to the garage to see if rust is under the car paint'

She: 'Oh'

2 hours later

He: grinning

Everything's allright, there is no rust under the car-paint.

I'm intrigued as to how the camera body whether Zinc, Brass or whatever dictates the quality of the image produced!

It's all Brass Monkeys..

Quite right. Leica considered Zinc to be OK for some time and, apart from some cosmetic problems early on, this has proved to be true.

I have a M6TTL with Zinc top plate and a M7 with Brass top plate. If I put my, say 28mm, lens on each camera the results will be exactly the same.

I think it all comes down to the fact that we are all camera snobs :) .
