Confession - I have a rather embarrassing accumulation of camera gear here at home, and it's all for fun!  I use Leicas for the shooting experience and quality of the output.  Recently, I compared the viewfinder of the vintage M2 with more modern models like the M7 and MP, and decided that I prefer the brighter image of the more-modern, multi-coated optics.  I trimmed the herd of my M2 and M3 and decided to keep an eye open for the right price on the M-A.  Fate smiled, and I found a mint black pre-owned model in box with Tri-X for under $3K.  The camera arrived A-OK today, and tomorrow it's off to the county fair.

I really don't expect much new in film to come out from Leica.  There isn't much to improve upon.  So unless they re-relase the Titanium MP, I think I've purchased my last film camera.  It makes me smile.

When you go out and make photos with one older camera, you don't feel the difference with modern viewfinders. At least when I use my M3 or M2 or M4 for instance, I never feel bad that I don't have another body with me but just enjoy the feel and sound of the one I am using, including the viewfiner.

Al - it is the last film Leica I purchased.  Being honest, I couldn’t pass the $2 Olympus Stylus at the local flea market.  That will be used to inspire some new street shooter someday.

Still waiting for a titanium MP.

I wish they would make another titanium MP but I doubt that will ever happen again.  They barely make normal ones anymore.  I think it would be cool if they did an aluminum MP like the new black M11.  I'm a big fan of lightweight, but high quality construction and aluminum seems like a good material for an M camera. I'm looking forward to an black aluminum M11 monochrom.
