Rob, I stare at this photo and think: this is what a photo is supposed to look like (and a beautiful granddaughter!).

Bags27 and Ropo54,  I most certainly agree with Bags27 comment in his above post.  For Ropo54, your photograph is superb.  The content of your photograph (Your granddaughter) is rendered in a beautiful way with the light, color, composition and shadows that help create mood and causes the viewer to: Stop, Look, Think and perhaps Feel something about this moment in time.  In your photograph, IMO it makes one stop and wonder what she might be both looking and thinking at that moment.   Bravo!  r/ Mark

This was an experiment using the Leica 70mmCS lens with the addition of a Tiffen #3 Fog filter. The filter smears highlights into darker areas and keeps blacks from going to full black, which is the effect you get in a foggy situation. Actual sharpness is not damaged as would be the effect of using a diffusion filter. I deliberately let the highlights go to full white, which normally would look like an exposure error, but in this case I think the effect is quite lovely. I have had these filters in #1 and #3 grade in 67mm size, purchased years ago for my film cameras. I discovered that with the use of a step-down ring from 82mm to 67mm, the filters are slightly wider than the clear cover glass on the 70mm lens, and do not vignette the image at all, something to keep in mind when you consider the cost of filters in the 82mm size. This also means I can safely use my Zeiss Softar filters in 67mm size.

I set out to take a wide-angle shot of land and water coastline. But the light was just not working so I changed over to this tranquil mix of manmade color and natural color. The photograph seems to have a natural balance, full frame from the Leica S007 using a Zeiss 120mm Macro Planar and the Contax adapter. I made no adjustments in Lightroom.
