There are 265 (I think) counties here and only 48 or so have beer and liquor sales. Ten are completely dry. No alcohol. The remainder are a mix of beer and liquor sales with areas of the county dry. No bottled liquor sold after 9:00 PM Saturday until 8:00 AM Monday anywhere. A nude beach is like asking the Baptist faith to come down and smote you. Even if you do dumb things it is ometimes fine. I carefully placed my M6 in a towell, went for a swim, then shook out the towell to dry myself. bocaburger Posted June 9, 2015 Share #35  Posted June 9, 2015 I have so many perfectly capable digital cameras that have depreciated to practically worthless that I somehow feel exhonorated taking them to the beach...kinda like Randy Quaid in Independence Day  However the beach is far from being the only place there's sand of some sort blowing around in the air, and much of the time you don't see it or know it's there. That said I've never taken any extreme precautions and yet never had any camera or lens get crunchy from sand incursion. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

They do recommend using a filter to protect the front element from sand and fine Seaspray. If it's windy enough to blow stinging sand into your eyes, it's only logical to close the cover of your ever ready case, bag, or whatever you are using. In fact if I turn my head and look out the window, I see the ocean behind a palm tree covered hill. I take no special care other than not changing lenses and wiping my camera and lens down with a damp cloth (fresh water) and drying everything carefully.  Welcome, dear visitor!
