jaapv Posted July 7, 2015 Share #41 Posted July 7, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I read campmobile I think holiday. Should you decide to camp a bit further out to avoid the city bustle, this place is next door to me: http://www.weergors.nl/nl/ Convenient for beach, marinas and the historical fortress-town Hellevoetsluis. http://www.molecaten.nl/rondeweibos/kampeerplaats is about 10 minutes away and 2 min. walk from the beach. In both cases I could easily give you a lift in and out of Rotterdam. There are also a couple of hotels and holiday home parks around.

jip Posted July 10, 2015 Author Share #44 Posted July 10, 2015 DAY PLANNING: MEETING POINT: 11:30/12:30 We will gather at our apartment where LorenzVS will serve some coffee or tea. (He’s good with coffee so I advise coffee!) LUNCH: 13:15 Once the group is complete we will head out a few hundred meters and will have lunch at Hotel New York, a nice building with a nice history about it. I will make sure there are reservations in order. PHOTOWALK: From Hotel New York we will take the ‘water taxi’ to go straight across the river ‘Nieuwe Maas’ to end up in the ‘Veerhaven’ where our photowalk will start. We will then head north toward the Museumpark, which we will cross to turn east and walk through the ‘Witte de With straat’ since we will then be on 1/5th of the walk we will find a bar and enjoy a refreshing beverage!!! We will then continue our route east to walk through the Leuvehaven, still eastward towards the ‘Kubus woningen’ (Cube houses) then a little bit north, and west to take a look at the ‘Markthal’. We’ll then continue north towards the ‘Luchtsingel’ a wooden elevated pedestrian walk. Then due west towards the Rotterdam central train station. A modern combination of wood and metals. Then from there we head south back towards the Kop van Zuid where Hotel New York and my Apartment are located. Or we can have dinner some where etc… depends a bit on how the whole day will settle itself. DINNER: Depending on what time we will end our walk etc etc and the weather conditions and who will stay for dinner and who doesn’t we will make reservations somewhere etc.. We’ll figure it out during the day itself. FOR ATTENDEES WHO HAVE BOOKED A ROOM THROUGH ME: I’ll have the keys for everyone and a remote control for the parking garage. The 31st is Lorenz (LorenzVS) his birthday so we will be out and about until in the evening, I will give everyone a call then so they can come pickup the key to their room and remote to the parking garage and I’ll show you around etc. or: If you arrive in the morning (before 11:30 AM) we will still be home and have the keys for you, so you can already park your car in the garage and don’t have to worry about the parking etc. The room however will only be ready after 14:00 (2PM)

Dan Bachmann Posted July 11, 2015 Share #46 Posted July 11, 2015 Ironically we have some dates in common... ...The 31st is Lorenz (LorenzVS) his birthday ... It's also my birthday on the 31st of July! I wish we could have come to this because it is Lynn and my wedding anniversary!... and it is also Ritsuko and my wedding anniversary on 3 August! We'll enjoy the Leica Rotterdam day - just being able to be there is special. We'll celebrate the occasions elsewhere in the Netherlands on the 3rd. SJP Posted July 23, 2015 Share #56 Posted July 23, 2015 Considering that the Kroket derives from the Croquette which is obvious French Haute Cuisine everyone should be grateful. Whole books have been written about this subject. Anyway I will not be there so I do not have any right to get involved
