But I am in the market for at least one R lens, having sold my 80 Lux, and I am thinking of the future with the lens I may purchase. Is it possible or recommended to fit R lenses on the S bodies? But to make the lenses forward-compatable with an as-yet unimagined oversized digital body. Â Shorter R lenses will be limited to more or less a macro range, however, on the S. John McMaster Posted March 11, 2015 Share #7 Â Posted March 11, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sadly no, they need to go even further towards infinity ;-) I have a Modular 1.4x focussing unit that has been calibrated at Wetzlar for the S, my untouched 2x doesn't and the 280/4 needs the 1.4x convertor to focus to infinity.
