nic Posted March 9, 2015 Share #41 Â Posted March 9, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) MM is excellent, but because of the sensor debacle I sold mine last December for a M-P as a companion to my M240. Wanted to escape the repair time; now both bodies and all lenses are for weeks in Wetzlar because of various problems. Â But in spite of all I would not buy an outdated MM, since the successor is already in the pipeline.
Advertisement Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Hi nic, Take a look here I think I 'need' a Monochrome, should I sell a lens or two ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted March 9, 2015 Share #42 Â Posted March 9, 2015 IS IT? Tell us more, please. All I have seen is rumours and speculation...
nic Posted March 9, 2015 Share #43 Â Posted March 9, 2015 If you think something logical and recall to your memory the launches in the past, then you do not even need a crystal ball. Special models and discounts are unmistakable signs. Due to the problems of the M9 sensor and its derivatives Leica only got a certain time delay. Just my 2 cents, no evidence. lumdicks Posted March 10, 2015 Share #44  Posted March 10, 2015 Never sell the 35AA for a MM as they work magically! Just got my 35AA, took the first picture and it blowed me off. jaapv Posted March 11, 2015 Share #49 Â Posted March 11, 2015 Don't worry, this is an international forum, and your English is as good as any. Normally we don't comment on mistakes at all, only when they are very funny, like this one. So feel welcome.

TheGodParticle/Hari Posted March 15, 2015 Share #51  Posted March 15, 2015 I am in a bit of a dilemma.... I have a nice (but expanding) lens collection. First things first, I am not a collector and they all get used. But less and less as I have only two arms and one camera. I have and do sell lenses if I no longer expect to use them. The question is how often will I use them. I have an M9-P that is a sturdy companion, just completed 20k exposures and running like a dream.  To put things simply I have wanted a monochrom since they were first announced and convert 90% of raw files to B&W and print mostly B&W (Although I am doing more colour this year than before)  My current lot :  12mm VC Aspherical II 15mm VC Aspherical II 18mm Leica Super Elmar-M 21mm Lecia Elmarit-M 21mm Leica Elmarit-M ASPH. 24mm Leica Elmarit-M ASPH 28mm Leica Summicron 35mm Summilux Aspherical 35mm Summicron MkIV 35mm Summaron f2.8 50mm Summilux pre asph E46 50mm Elmar-M 50mm Summicron MkV 50mm Noctilux f1.0 75mm Summilux  The 21 is an obvious decision to be made, so there's the first  So should I sell a lens or two ....   My opinion:  Do NOT sell ->  15mm VC Aspherical II   [Replace 21mm with the SA21/3.4]  28mm Leica Summicron 35mm Summilux Aspherical  35mm Summaron f2.8 50mm Summilux pre asph E46 50mm Elmar-M  50mm Noctilux f1.0 75mm Summilux   If you MUST sell the 35 2A / Summaron 2.8 / f1 / 75Lux, please do let me know
Trivette Posted March 15, 2015 Share #52 Â Posted March 15, 2015 .....The combination of MM and 50mm APO is quite remarkable. Resolution is highly impressive (the highest i've seen out of 35mm FF), but it does this in a gentle / smooth way and with an "unprocessed" and convincingly natural look. Micro-contrast and tonality are just beautiful. Â It is reminiscent of ULTRA-fine grain 120 format film, drum scanned by someone who knows what they're doing. You're making me drool.
