The change of management at the Leica HQ in Wetzlar has started hot discussions here in the Leica Forum.

In order to provide our competence as Leica customers - thus competent market observers and qualified Leica experts - I have a request to you:

Your wish or tipp to Mr. Kaltner - one sentence, no long explanations

Please do not comment on other suggestions, we're going to move such posts to another thread. And please no fun comments, we already had the request for another Leica gummi bear can ;)

So: What tast should the new CEO tackle first?

Please significantly reduce the turnaround time for camera and lens service and repairs. This applies whether through Leica service centres in individual countries or for much of the equipment that has to return to Germany. A typical turnaround of three or more months is totally unacceptable.

sorry, three sentences not one!

Please, no more Lenny Kravitz special editions. Just keep on making cutting edge photography tools for real photographers (and maybe with a reasonable price tag :) ).

Don't ever loose the Leica soul. Please.

First task? Compare what Hasselblad did wrong, to what Fuji did right, and to what everyone has always loved about Leica.

Very best of luck Herr Kaltner! Fortune favours the brave, but a wise man looks before he leaps!

If you ever need a consultant, my price is a Monochrom and a business-class ticket to Wetzlar!

Innovate with other product lines, but retain the M Series Rangefinder in a very basic and simplistic 'no frills' camera form - it has lasted a long time and will endure far longer if not compromised.

Do not follow others, lead to new high end.

1. Leica M roll film rangefinder

2. Leica M medium format digital rangefinder

3. Same lenses for both

Something that would make all others to hold breath.
