Bill W Posted February 22, 2015 Share #5 Â Posted February 22, 2015 You can buy a metal screw-in silver hood off ebay for almost nothing. $
Bill W Posted February 22, 2015 Share #6 Â Posted February 22, 2015 Can you buy round metal hood on silver crom f/2Thinking buying 35 crom Thanks Ron I have also considered buying a chrome 35 but do not like the black hood on the Summicron. When the Summarit is available, I may consider it. Like I mentioned, you can get a chrome hood in a screw-in version really reasonably.
Bill W Posted March 10, 2015 Share #7 Â Posted March 10, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) According to a Leica dealer, the hood which is included with the Safari M is heavier than the original 12504 hood. It does not allow you to insert Series 7 filters so it is probably only produced for the Safari M. They indicated that there were 1500 of the Safari M's produced. Bill W Posted March 10, 2015 Share #9 Â Posted March 10, 2015 Would be surprising if it were different from this one, but i may be wrong. I agree and can only assume that they had the Safari kit and actually looked at the lens hood. The last 12504 silver hood I saw that sold on ebay was for $590 and I would never go for that. As I told them, Leica could sell a lot of them if they produced additional ones.
