mas Posted January 31, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 31, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I turned on the camera and pushed the shutter release, and it started firing. Turning it off doesn't help. Removing the battery stops it, until I turn the camera back on again. How do I fix this? Thanks.

Send to Leica Wetzlar but I think it'll be expensive Removing battery : another test after 48h ? M8 bought new ? how many actuations ? lct Posted February 1, 2015 Share #4 Posted February 1, 2015 I would screw a cable release and pull it gently to see if the shutter stops firing.
Symeon Posted February 23, 2015 Share #5 Posted February 23, 2015 Many M8s have had similar problems with their shutters. a) the single/continuous modes are short circuited, the whole shutter mechanism needs new electronics. One way or the other the camera needs to be serviced by Leica, you can't fix it yourself. Bad luck. regards
Everywhen Posted February 25, 2015 Share #6 Posted February 25, 2015 Leica usually fix M8 shutter problems for free. They did for me anyway. Wetzlar took 4 weeks fix it, CLA and rangefinder adjustment as well.
