Nice softbox technique and good clarity. It gave me a bit of a start when I saw your background drop. It appears identical to one I hand painted 50 years ago. Flogged it to death. It now resides in my roof space. Probably being eaten by rats. Nice to see you carrying on the traditional setup.

THANKS and it is a gray 10 X 20 gray muslin with a B/G light and a bit of vignette added in post.

Great portraits, but no Leica equipment involved at all (e.g. #4149 here with full EXIF)

Of course, this does not affect the quality of your portraits but I thought we were in a brand forum here...

The forum's rules require that either the camera or lens (or both) used to make any picture that is posted on the forum must be made by Leica so you're right to ask the question.  However, when the L-mount Alliance was formed between Leica, Sigma, and Panasonic, equipment that fall under the Alliance's agreement, which covers L-mount cameras and lenses, those were permitted too.

The picture in question appears to have been taken with a Panasonic S5, which I believe falls under the L-mount alliance, so it should be within the forum's rules.🙂

Ja das sind wir.  Werde mich an Ihre Empfehlung halten und keine Bilder aus der S 5 mehr einstellen. Schönen Gruß nach HH.

I will follow your recommendation and not post any more pictures from the S 5. Best regards to HH.

I think the S5 is OK?

But I noted a number of monochrome photos in the "show photos" in the film M camera section that appear to be taken with a Nikkor lens and a Nikon ftn body... :)

I just realized that this isn't covered by the rules and needs clarification:

Photos taken with L-Mount equipment are officially welcome in the Leica Forum.

We have a dedicated section for L-Mount so it wouldn't make much sense if we exclude L-Mount images.

I'll change to forum rules in order to clarify…

Currently the entry page to the Photo Forum (still) says "The Leica Photo Forum shows images from Leica photographers from all over the world. Only images made with Leica equipment are allowed."

At least to me, a camera or lens, that only follows the mechanical and electrical specification of the L-Mount initiative is not "Leica Equipment". Although I would like to leave it open whether a "Leica look" really exists, but when there is something like that, it will have to do something with lens characteristics, sensor and signal processing, "color science" etc. - but not with just a mount. Otherwise, we also will see images from DJI drones, as DJI offers also an L-Mount adapter for their X9 camera and is member of the L-Mount initiative as well...

The rules are finally made by @LUF Admin but I think it makes sense to get a few more votes (in a seperate thread?).

Sorry no.

There are decisions in which I listen to the community and where I am happy to follow the results of a discussion or poll.

In this case please accept my decision als „well meaning dictator“. And trust me that I'll find the right balance…
