My mint with case (but no papers or box) Canada (1993) version II cost me $3600 this year. The barrel is mint and the glass close to perfect. It has accurate focus.

Incidentally, my previous copy had severe back focus and wasn't as sharp overall as the copy I just bought. Curiously they are only 32 production numbers apart, so may even have been made the same day.

My new copy has made me fall in love with the rendering of this lens - now that I can also get things in focus!

Sheba the Portuguese Water Dog at (almost) 1 year old.

ISO 200 @ f/2.8 - I couldn't see Sheba's eyes, so I had to focus on her tags. The brown cast on her coat (particularly her legs) is because she hasn't been clipped recently, rather than IR.

I have just got this lens back from Wetzlar after focus adjustment. It is one of my very favourite lenses of all time.

My totally wonderful 75 Lux is the probably the most magic and versatile lens I have ever owned. I paid a mere GBP 1,999 for it (from Ffordes)....rather a bargain as, at the time (a year ago) the Aussie dollar was very high.

I was planning to have the lens 6 bit coded but have not as I find I can't be parted from it for the required time, and now I have come to realise that coding is not necessary after all!

I know I really, really meant not to but I've succumbed..... Away with Leica being coded and having the focus sorted so far:):):).

Me too, but I've learnt that all is lost when GAS strikes and it's best to just give in rather than agonise and fight it. Mine is back from Wetzlar coded and though also CLA'ed by them it's still a pig to nail focus ;)

I have problems with my eyes called "Floaters" which makes it quite annoying to nail focus. Just as I'm getting everything into focus, these weird things drift across my line of sight and irritate the cr*p out of me

That considered, the 75Lux is one of the easiest lenses for me to focus with. Also because the framelines are quite clear. I don't even see the 50mm lines anymore when I mount my all time favorite 75Lux

The trick with these special lenses is that you have to dedicate yourself to using just that one lens for a longer period of time so you understand it. How long is the focus throw, how much of micro adjustment does it need to get perfect focus, what will actually be in focus, when does it flare, how slow can you go before you see motion blur and many other factors can become intimate knowledge if you keep shooting just that one lens.

Of course it always more fun to have a couple of lenses in your bag and change as needed but to master a beast like the 75Lux it takes some dedication and devotion

Once you get the hang of it, it truly is "TheGodLens"

it's still a pig to nail focus ;)

I don't get why some users seem to have difficulty "nailing focus" with the 75 Lux....thankfully I never have had any problem,

perhaps because (when I purchased mine) I had no idea of it's reputation for having a fairly high degree of difficulty...ignorance is bliss!

I really do think that it helps to use this lens frequently so that the frame-line-thing becomes second nature.
