Continuing with my theme of showing you some sights from the southern tip of Manhattan where I used to work. The first is the Holocaust Museum at the south end of Battery Park City. The second is 1 New York Plaza early one morning as I left the office to go to a yoga class. The third is an older building one block north of the New York Stock Exchange. The fourth is what you see looking up and to the north from the corner of Water and Broad streets.

Pete - Thank you. I'm going to have to guess regarding cameras. I think #1 was with the FZ-20, though it might have been the D2. #2 is definitely the pre-flooded FX-01. I think #3 was D2. #4 was probably FX-01 -- It couldn't be the FZ-20 since by then I had that camera on loan to the dearest of friends (and Forum member). At that time I very rarely carried the D2 or the DMR to work. The D2, though, has been coming to work with me all week this week, and I added a picture to the 7th NYC page on our site shot earlier this week.

Lord B - Thank you. #2 is my favorite (followed by #1), too. Two of Barbara's colleagues thought it was a painting or serrigraph.

Stuart, all pictures are superb with ice-cutting clarity.

Each one has its interest; however #4 appeals most for its classical composition. #1& #2 are slightly enigmatic.

Big, Brian & Falvio - Thank you.

David -

I agree on both counts: #4 is classical with the branch framing at the top, and 1& 2 are enigmatic: 1 due to the winter and crop, 2 due to the lighting and surreal quality.

Stu,

thanks for these. PNG sure looks different to NYC. My favourite is no 2 - it has tha abstract almost graphic quality to it - almost doesn't look like a photo - it looks more like an airbrushed graphic.

Best wishes,

Charlie
