A caiman in Rio Negro in the Brazilian Pantanal. We actually swam with them.

Brent - Thank you. I'm not sure whether I was in a canoe or a boat when I shot this. Caiman are crocodilians most closely related to American alligators. The largest ones we saw were about two meters long, as was this one, and they primarily eat fish. The only danger we were in swimming in that river was from fresh water sting rays which one can avoid by making a fuss as one stepped near the river bed.
