    • Would have bought the special edition. Too bad it's sold out.

    • Regular model, please. But with a slimmer housing.

    • I like the approach but I'm not going to buy one.

    • A digital camera without display doesn't make sense.

    • Leica is completely mad if they offer such a camera.

I'm finding the strap a bit annoying on mine. The half case is very well designed, and seems to be reinforced. It also provides protection for the front end of the viewfinder - where glass actually protrudes from the top plate because of the curved design. Without the half case, this feels a bit exposed to catching and chipping. But the strap... the problem is perhaps a temporary one, while the leather is still a little stiff, but the strap has a tendency to bow inwards between the camera and my face when I bring the camera up from the slung-round-neck position to the photo-taking position, and gets in the way.

Lack of strap lugs means that any alternative half-case / strap would have to be carefully custom-made.

IkarusJohn - I'm guessing you have gotten more use out of yours than I have with mine. Has the strap softened up much?

Not especially. I use the half case a lot - I like the grip. The strap is a tad short, but otherwise works well. It is stiff, but I expect it will soften with age.

I feel like its too beautiful to cover up. I attached this to the tripod mount:

and then attached a silk cord artist and artisan strap.

I handled one at Leica Mayfair the other day, though I didn't try it, I loved the design. But on this one I'll resist the GAS. Apparently, quite a few Leica Mayfair customers who bought the 'Edition 60' bought two one to use the other to keep pristine in the box. I'd have to say, on hearing that, I suddenly felt very poor. ;)

On three occasions while out taking pictures, the red light on the back (showing writing to the SD card) has come on and stayed on.  The issue is solved by removing the battery, but it's a pain nonetheless.

I have emailed Leica - no response at this stage.  The disappointing thing is that a firmware upgrade has to be unlikely.  I guess every silver lining has a cloud.

I had the same issue at a ballet recital. (A place where the ISO dial is a plus). Off with the case, bottom plate and battery. This needs solving.

I tried this. Not for me. To much of a pendulum while walking. I am now just carrying it in hand. On shoulder if situation arises.

Has anyone used a ThumbUp with their M60? I had mine from my M240 but it didn't fit right, which surprises me.

I have a couple of the ones for the M9 and they work great.

The M240 has that curve for that dial that thankfully has been removed from the M60.

Will definitely share as soon as I have it figured out.

I was going to get a half case made for my M60, but then realised that the supplied half case includes metal to help reinforce it. The key difference being that it is the case rather than strap lugs that have to take the forces that get exerted from the strap.

But if Luigi solves the technical challenge and makes something beautiful, I'd be interested too.

That curve is one of the best features of the M240, why I don't need a thumbs up

Matter of preference :-). I got used to the TU on an M3 never quite could live without it b
