Leica white letter M removal

I removed the lettering from my M8 years ago and never looked back. Used a toothpick and took me about a minute to accomplish. Note, this was the original chrome version so no body paint underneath to rub off. I've read, though, that you can use regular, white enamel paint that's readily available in any art supply store.

I finally did mine the other day (have had the camera for 6 months)

i much prefer the look without the white lettering (i must be weird though, i filled the serial number on the hotshoe with black paint)

 

no idea what the M is filled with, but have had good luck filling engravings with nail polish.

its cheap, comes with a brush, and is easily removed (nail polish remover, although this may affect painted surfaces)
